Please Excuse the Mess

Renovations in progress

Mostly this website is a place for me to share lab news and occassionally give a student a chance to share what they have been working on. In the beginning we used Jekyll. But then that started to get complicated, and I decided since it was all under my control and I love Emacs I would just use org-publish. That worked okay at first, but then as Emacs versions updated my bespoke functions broke and I couldn't remember what I had done, so for the last year the lab website was basically in suspended animation. I am trying to get things back to a bit more dynamic, and one of the best successes I ever had was with Hakyll (a haskell based static website library). So, not having learned from my mistakes, I am now using another bespoke personalized adaptation since I insist on writing my posts in org-mode instead of markdown and despite the power of pandoc to handle this conversion some internal hakyll code precludes using the org meta data. But here we are. Close to functional. Stay tuned. And if you find something broken in an old post just drop me a line and I will try to fix the link. But without requests I am just going to leave the older posts up as a sort of archive.
